This fully integrated oil company in London is currently looking to hire in their chartering team.
Main responsibilities as follows:
• managing the spot chartering process working closely with trading;
• supporting the scheduling team for optimizing the relevant time charter fleet;
• providing pro-active support and real-time updates on the shipping market;
• keeping the fixtures documentation with all the latest data;
• maintaining a good relationship with internal clients and counterparts;
• dealing with ad hoc requests from management.
• plan, develop and manage the chartering activities of the various trade routes & optimize the earning capacity of the company’s fleet;
• obtain optimal returns by reducing voyage expenses;
• identify and develop new/potential chemical & oil charterers for return cargo;
• keep real time reliable fixtures documentation for transparency and compliance needs;
• provide guidance to Clients on proposed shipping ventures, investment opportunities & market trends;
• deal with spot and/or time charters, crude oil, chemical tankers and gas tankers;
• maintain cooperative relationship with local and overseas customers/shipowners, arrange regular meetings/visits and develop network further;
• keep up-to-date knowledge of the market and perform market intelligence research;
• assist Management and the team with ad hoc requests.
Background:
• knowledge and experience of tanker chartering & contract management of crude, products, chemical and gas tankers within in an oil / trading company environment.
• knowledge of incoterms and experience of General Terms and Conditions of Majors;
• 5 years of experience in a similar role within a trading environment and/or operational experience;
• commercial awareness;
• experience working in a global organization;
• strong communication, negotiation & influencing skills;
• ability to build and nurture effective relationships internally and externally;
