As part of their growth, they are looking for the addition of a Technical Tendering Engineer to join their team. Initially, this role will assist with the delivery of 4 pilot plants, proving technology within the production of Hydrogen, Alternative Fuels and Electricity via the conversion of waste materials and will then continue through the delivery of full commercial scale operations.

Role Purpose

Support the management in the requirements for Technical Tendering for all projects, ensuring value for money, technically robust solutions are procured across the business. To coordinate and oversee all procurement by adopting a pro-active approach and engaging with vendors and contractors and all teams.

As Technical Tendering Engineer your main responsibilities are as follows: 

•           Management of the procurement process in line with budget, quality requirements and program

•           Preparation of tender documents and BOQ’s considering technical specification, scope of work documentation and drawings

•           Review and assess tenders for suitability, technical compliance, and cost/time impacts

•           Ensure all relevant regulatory requirements are met including provision of documentation for the technical file

•           Develop cost model for work packages based on technical documentation and an overall procurement delivery plan

•           Vendor qualification

•           Negotiation of pricing

•           Arrange transport/shipping from overseas

•           Reviewing of terms and conditions for discussion with management teams

•           Sourcing of new suppliers, developing strong relationships with them and the existing supply chain

•           Act as technical point of contact for all tenders and field questions to the relevant teams responding to vendors in a timely manner

•           Provide technical support and advice to the Engineering and Construction teams

•           Liaise directly with the Engineering. Project Management, Commercial, Document Control and Construction teams

•           Ability to work autonomously and support the procurement assistant

The following qualities and experience are highly desirable

•           8+ years’ experience

•           Experience of working within a procurement/tendering team

•           Experience gained within process plant facilities Oil and Gas/Energy from Waste/Process Plant sectors, with an exposure to tendering packages around pumps, vessels, pipework etc

•           An ability to understand how the operations of the team relate to others and work collaboratively to obtain the best outcome for the business
